How To Create Featured Boards On Pinterest
Last Updated on November 3, 2021 by Kelly Thoreson
Most professional bloggers will tell you that a majority of their traffic comes from a well-optimized Pinterest account.
One of the first steps to optimizing your Pinterest for success is setting your featured boards on Pinterest.
By doing this one little tweak, you can send your domain's link clicks through the roof!
Why? Because when Pinners navigate to your profile, they usually only browse through the top boards – your featured boards.
Keeping this in mind, wouldn't you want the first board your audience views to be your blog's?
Of course, you do!
Below, I will teach you how to make your domain board your featured board in this step by step tutorial including a video walkthrough at the end!
FAQs About Pinterest Featured Boards
What is a Featured Board on Pinterest?
Also unofficially referred to as Pinterest showcase or Pinterest featured slideshows, Pinterest defines featured boards as boards that, "sit at the top of your profile and automatically rotate, letting you decide how to introduce yourself". (source: Pinterest)
What Does Setting A Featured Board on Pinterest Mean?
Setting a featured board on Pinterest just means that you are designating a board that you want to be locked to the top of your profile page.
Let's look at my Blogfiti Pinterest profile:
You can see that my domain's board (titled Blogfiti.com) is the first board on my profile.
I want my audience to browse through my content before any of my other pins and locking my board to the top of my profile helps them find it.
Let's look at how to do this below, step by step!
1. Login to Pinterest
Log in to Pinterest by going to www.Pinterest.com and typing in your username and password.
2. Click the Dot Dot Dot (Upper Right)
In the upper right-hand corner, there will be a set of ellipsis (dot dot dot), click on them.
3. Click on Edit Settings
After clicking on the ellipsis, a drop-down menu will come up. Chose the Edit Settings option.
4. Click on Edit (Lower Right)
Next, click on Edit in the lower right-hand corner.
5. Chose Featured Board(s)
Now, use the drop-down arrow to select your domain's board for slot #1. You can have up to 5 featured boards, they will cycle through carousel-style on your profile page.
I don't use all 5 slots because I only want my domain's board pinned to the top.
Don't Forget to Click Save
Click save! Done! Told ya it was going to be easy peasy! 🙂
